production and consumption for sustainable rural livelihoods in
Jharkhand, India
”
under the Central India
Initiative, since April 2008.

their evaluation for yield and diseases resistance, besides selection of superior
vegetable varieties under open field house conditions for year round availability
of vegetables in Jharkhand.
The project is making strong efforts in improving nutritional status of the households,
by ensuring a balanced nutritional diet through developing the home garden modules. Moreover, there will
be other interventions for improving soil, as well as human health
through promotion of vegetable soyabean. The project will also support the national
partners in improving their infrastructure, capacity building and access to new
information/technologies and ideas. The overall goal of the project s to enhance
