One of the major strategies for promoting DBIM is to enhance the capacity of the organizations working in the field of Diversion Based Irrigation. To demystify and simplify the technology CInI as a resource organization has developed a technical manual and design software. 

Technical Manual on DBI: A detailed technical manual covering various aspects including the design of various DBI systems has been developed. The manual will enable practitioners and users from all background to refer to intuitively. The chapters covered in the manual are About This Handbook – CInI’s purpose, context and  relevance, Introduction – definition, types, traditional efforts and steps involved for each chapter, Promoting Water Users’ Association, Developing the Project - survey, water availability, command area and crops grown, Designing the Diversion Based Irrigation System - Head work and conveyance, Implementing the DBI System - pipe layout, Transformation - from rainfed to irrigated agriculture and Sustainability, Impact and Challenges.

Software on DBI: A comprehensive software capable of designing and estimating diversion based systems; covering the design, estimate, drawing and material requirements of the three types of DBI namely flow, storage and lift based DBI is in progress. The software will enable organisations working on the field of DBI to implement the schemes effectively. The software would enhance the capacity of practitioners and organisations in designing and estimating the schemes perfectly. This will help CInI to disseminate the theme to a larger area and promote DBI as successful and replicable models.
