Vision:
Staple (Maize) food grain security achieved at household level through increased
and stabilized maize production in the rainfed (semiarid) western tribal region
of Madhya Pradesh,
Gujarat
and Rajasthan.
Activities:
1) The roll out plan of year 2010 – 12 aims for the validation of the program
with improved field and program
level strategies.
2) With enhanced seed sufficiency
and more settled field implementation and financial support systems, KMS aspires to outreach 30000 plus families and acreage
through partners, in coming years.
3) For Kharif 2009, despite the draught situations, areas could achieve about
30 % yield enhancement above baseline productivity, in water deficient areas
while 150 % yield enhancement in areas with support irrigation,.
4) In next few years KMS would like to target areas where seeds have not been replaced
for past
many years and technology wise farmers are ignorant.
