Dr. Tushar Shah Principal Scientist, International Water Management Insititute

Dr Tushar Shah joined IWMI in 1999 as leader of the program on Policy, Institutions and Management. Shah also built and led the IWMI-Tata Water Policy Program in India--the first ever collaboration between an international center and an Indian foundation. In 2005, Shah created two IWMI research projects funded under the Challenge Program for Water and Food: "Groundwater Governance in Indo-Gangetic and Yellow River Basins" and "Strategic Analyses of India's National River-Linking Project". In 2002, Shah was selected for the CG award for 'Outstanding Scientist of the Year'. Shah obtained his doctorate from the Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad and specialized as a development economist and strategic management specialist. He was formerly the Director of the Institute of Rural Management at Anand during 1987-95. He also serves on the Academic Council of the Chinese Center for Agricultural Policy (CCAP). Most recently, Shah served on several committees of the Government of India for developing the irrigation component of India's 11th Five-Year Plan as well as a committee of the Indian Planning Commission on Sustainable Groundwater Management.

Dr. Sanjiv Pansalkar Programme Leader, Sir Dorabji Tata Trust

Sanjiv Phansalkar received his PhD from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and taught management and marketing courses for a number of years at the Institute for Rural Management at Anand (IRMA). He presently is the Programme Leader of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, one of the leading Indian Funding Agency. He is a well-known author on business subjects, and provides consultancy services with government, businesses and non-profit organizations.


Mr H.D. Malesra Trustee, Navajbai Ratan Tata Trust

Mr. H.D. Malesra, the Trustee of Navajbai Ratan Tata Trust is a known Chartered Accountant and working with the Tatas for more than 30 years now. Mr. Malesra had been the Secretary and Chief Accountant of Sir Ratan Tata Trust till 2008.

Mr. F.J. Gandavia Secretary and Chief Accountant,Sir Ratan Tata Trust

Mr. Gandavia is the Secretary and Chief Accountant of Sir Ratan Tata Trust, one of the known philanthropic funding agencies for rural development in India. Mr. Gandavia is a Chartered Accountant by profession.

Mr. Sanjiv Paul Vice President, Tata Steel

Mr. Sanjiv Paul has been Vice President of Corporate Services of Tata Steel Limited since April 1, 2010 . Mr. Paul served as Managing Director and Director of Jamshedpur Utilities and Services Company Limited (Jusco) until April 1, 2010

Mr. Debdoot mohanty Secretary, TSRDS

Mr. Debdoot Mohanty is the Honorary Secretary of Tata Steel Rural Development Society, the CSR division of Tata Steel. Mr. Mohanty holds a degree from XISS and has previously worked with AKRSP (I) and CInI.


Mr. Arun Pandhi
Programme Manager, SRTT

Mr. Pandhi is the Programmes Manager of the Sir Ratan Tata Trust. He has been associated with the Trust for last 10 years and has been heading the various programmes at SRTT.

 

Dr. Vishwa Ballabh
Professor, Xavier Labour Research Institute

Dr. Vishwa Ballabh is a Professor of Economics. Prior to joining XLRI, he was with Reserve Bank of India and Chair Professor at the Institute of Rural Management Anand. Prof Ballabh graduated in Agriculture from Pant Nagar and holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He has been a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the International Crop Research Institute for the Semi Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) and was a Visiting Scholar at the Indiana University, USA and a Visiting Scientist at the International Rice Research Institute, Philippines. He has over twenty years of teaching and research experience. He was Vice President of Indian Society of Agricultural Economics1996-97. Widely travelled, Prof Ballabh has participated in several national and international conferences and has provided consultancy to several national and international development organizations such as the Ford Foundation, Royal Netherlands Embassy, UNICEF and International Water Management Institute.

Chairperson

Dr. R.S.Toliya Chief Information Commissioner;Government of Uttaranchal

Dr Tolia is an IAS and presently heads the Uttarakhand Information Commission as the Chief Information Commissioner. He was the Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand and during his tenure as the Chief Secretary has largely focused on the development of Uttarakhand, which was carved out as a separate state from Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Tolia has written various books on forest resources, RTI, etc. and headed various committees. He has been pioneer in bringing the Van Panchayat system within Uttarakhand for forest conservation and management. 
Vice Chairperson

Mr. Y. C. Nanda Former chairman, NABARD

Y C Nanda is an alumnus of Delhi School of Economics. He was appointed Managing Director of NABARD in 1998 and went on to become the Chairman in 2000. After retirement, acknowledging his expertise, Mr. Nanda was appointed a full-time member of the National Commission on Farmers by the Government of India. Mr. Nanda has worked as a consultant to a number of international organizations like IFAD, UNOPS, GTZ and FAO. He has served on a number of Government and RBI led Committees as Chairman/member. He was also the Chairman of the Working Group on Agriculture Credit and Cooperatives for the 11th Five Year Plan. Currently, he is Chairman of the Agriculture Finance Corporation.
