Strategy for CBO...
Home
In the light of this thought, CInI will play the role as an agency that builds its capacities and designs
support for strengthening the CBO sector in tribal livelihoods.
The range of CBOs that can be explored by CInI for support and product developments
are:
1.
Those CBOs that
have genesis
around an economic activity. The focus of these groups are around an efficient and
effective delivery of a particular or a range of products e.g. water users association,
grain banks, fisheries and aqua-culture societies, lift irrigation societies, savings
and credit groups, joint forest committees. Sometimes these groups also perish with
the completion of the task, e.g. the PIA established in government watershed works.
2.
Service-delivery models, comprising of individuals, para-professionals located either
in the federation (superstructure of a group) or at the nearest village cluster.
Their focus is on providing timely and effective extension service be it for agriculture,
goatry, poultry and financial management of the SHG/saving and credit groups.
E.g.
the gopals (para-vet), the krishi
mitra services of NGOs and GOs.
